Friends Achieving A Mission
The "Friends of the Mighty Mo" is comprised of supporters who make financial contributions to help achieve the Battleship Missouri memorial's mission to create and maintain a fitting memorial to the people and historic events reflecting our nation's legacy of duty, honor, strength, resolve and sacrifice.
Friends of the Mighty Mo include members, sponsors, specific and general project support. Many of our Friends have been with us since the ship arrived in Pearl Harbor in 1998 while others may have recently joined this year! We appreciate the support of all of our Friends whose support ensures our ability to connect the activities, programs, and initiatives of day-to-day operations to one or more of four mission focused areas:
Advance Educational Experiences
Share with visitors, students, and guests meaningful national history, facts, and technology that connects them to a legacy of inspirational values
Preserve and maintain the ship and original crew members who bring the importance of the vessel "to life"
Provide a unique, public venue connected to our nation's legacy to offer meaningful public events & a location for special ceremonies
Establish systems, expertise, and goals to transition a valued mission & operation to the next generation
How Contributions Are Used
When the Mighty Mo first arrived in Hawaii in 1998, the automatic priority for contributions was to maintain ship facilities. Today, our operations have grown so that contributions are also able to support specific programs that also achieve our mission. Learn more about specific programs
