What Legacy Will You Leave?
For many of us, there is a compelling need to remember the legacy of duty, honor, strength, sacrifice, and resolve found in the people and events that shape the story of the MightyMo.  One way to do this is to make MightyMo’s legacy part of your legacy, through a gift from your estate.

As Hawaii’s only Battleship Memorial, we are committed to providing a place for people to remember, reflect, and be inspired by the history of the MightyMo and the people who served on her.  The gift that you arrange today that will benefit the MightyMo sometime in the future will help ensure that this remains possible for tomorrow’s generations.  Your gift will help preserve the majesty of the MightyMo and its legacy for all time.

How Can You Create Your Legacy?
The power of estate gifts lies in that you can arrange right now to leave a generous gift to the MightyMo and yet retain control of your assets during your lifetime should you need them.  In addition, once arranged you can revoke or otherwise change them.
Estate gifts can be made in a variety of ways:
•    Bequest in your will or living trust – the most common type of estate gift
•    Beneficiary designation on a retirement asset, e.g., IRA , 401(k) or 403(b) plans
•    Beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy
•    Beneficiary designation on bank or brokerage accounts

Another type of deferred gift can provide a lifetime income to you and/or loved ones while making a charitable gift.

How Will Your Future Gift Be Used?
Future gifts can be applied in the same way as a gift made during life.  They can be spent when received or they can be added to endowment, thereby creating a permanent legacy for you and your loved ones.  Besides unrestricted gifts, there are four particular areas of interest where you might prefer to direct your gift, whether for current use or endowment:

What is the MightyMo Legacy Society?
The MightyMo Legacy Society recognizes and honors those generous and visionary donors who have included the MightyMo in their estate plans.  We know that this is a very deliberate, personal decision – an expression of what a donor has held most dear during their lifetime – and this is our way to say “thank you”.  In appreciation for their legacy support, MightyMo Legacy Society members receive benefits including:

•    MightyMo Legacy Society Membership Card and pin
•    Annual listing as a member in a Mighty Mo publication
•    Annual legacy society event
•    Special family-focused admission days
•    Invitations to other select Mighty Mo events
